On July 23, 2021, ASEAN-China National Focal Point Meeting on Environmental Cooperation was successfully held by video meetings during ASEAN-China Environmental Cooperation Week 2021.

This meeting is hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), and held by China-ASEAN Environmental Cooperation Center/Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center, MEE. Zhou Jun, Director of Department of International Cooperation of MEE, moderated the meeting. Vong Sok, Head of the Environment Division of ASEAN Secretariat, and about 40 delegates from ASEAN member countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam attended the meeting.

During the meeting, participants exchanged opinions on the ASEAN-China Year of Sustainable Development Cooperation outcomes and documents, as well as arrangements for the ASEAN-China Environmental Cooperation Forum. Participants expressed appreciation for China to successfully host the ASEAN-China Environmental Cooperation Week 2021. They hope that China and ASEAN Member States could further strengthen exchange and practical cooperation focusing on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and other key regional environmental issues.
